Day 45

I really like this shot, in fact it may be my favorite shot of anything I have taken in the last year or so. At this point it is completely unaltered. The only thing about it that I question is the power lines, sometimes I like what they add and other times I thin kit takes away from the overall image.. oh well, still a pretty cool shot.

Day 44

This was me just screwing around with my camera one night. The bright spiral is the moon and I have no idea what the green in the lower left corner is, possible a light on a nearby building. Just an experiment but was fun playing around with it. Will take a lot more practice though to make something worth actually looking at.

This shot actually turned out better than i thought it would. I was really struggling with making light work for me this day and this fellows dark head did not help matters. Luckily the eye came out better than I thought when I initially looked. The shot itself is pretty boring and is a typical angle but with the chain link fence it made it very tough to get as low as I would have liked, maybe next time.

For Father's Day my wife and kids gave me a book with a whole bunch of ideas and projects for photography. One of the ideas was to have your subject jump to break any stiffness in their pose or facial expression. Here is my first attempt with jumpology, I also did another one with her that also featured her mother... her mother refuses to let me post that one here.

Taken from the same park as my last shot, there is something I really like about the contrasts here of the old stone building and the modern glass hotel behind it, with the Ferris wheel coming out from behind the trees. Might just be me though.

This shot was taken in a park in Niagara Falls, just a hop skip and a jump from the actual Falls. Seriously... I hopped, skipped and jumped, and there I was.

Day 26 - Signs

I have always liked signs. Anything kind of unique, stylish, old and most importantly... cool. While I like all kinds of signs, for awhile I have thought about taking some time to shoot some of our local signs for my own interests. So that is what I started doing. This one is from Strike Rock N' Bowl on Clifton Hill in Niagara Falls, Ontario. It has the feel of a sign that would have been on a bowling alley decades ago, and you gotta like that.
